Life is a Journey. Time creates a suitcase of memories. Over the years I’ve learned that it’s not how we start but ultimately how we finish. (Paul states: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ) We can choose to magnify the past or marvel at the faithfulness of our God. My Mother Joyce Elaine certainly ran her race and she approached the finish line on August 9th, 2015. On that day I am confident that she was received hearing the words: Well Done thou good and faithful servant! She frequently recited the scripture; We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. She grew to be a woman of great faith. As her journey here came to a close she was speaking about how “pretty” everything was and asked us to “look at how beautiful surrounding things were.” It was as if she was visualizing things differently in the end. I am confident that today she is in Paradise, in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She went through much pain and suffering here but now she is truly free and has a glorified body. Although our hearts are grieving, I take comfort and rest in the promises of God. I know that we will see her again one day because I know that her decisions made her eternally secure. Because of this even in our time of sadness we can also experience joy and hope. So Today, in this hour~ It is much rather better that we choose to celebrate her life, experience thankfulness, healing, and reflect on the memories that we hold dear. As we lock in today’s last treasured memory in this suitcase, Remember this is Not the end. A new journey for her has begun. It is timeless and lasts forever; it is eternal. She is in the Presence of the King. ALL of our hope is in Our Lord, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. My Mother truly encountered the One and Only God who grants us this Grace and she lived a Fully Redeemed and Blessed life.
~Today take a moment and reflect upon decisions and what is inside your suitcase?~
